Richard Cohen’s new book, It’s Not About Rate: The Right Way to Get a Mortgage, is already being talked about as the best little book to read before starting the mortgage process.
Richard has talked to thousands of homebuyers, and the idea for the book came from the questions and concerns that people have repeated during initial consultations. Many new homebuyers, Richard noticed, displayed a certain degree of concern and even voiced their sense of being overwhelmed by the process. Even veteran homebuyers, on their second or third home, shared their feelings about their previous mortgage experiences and wanted to understand what had gone wrong and how to avoid the same problems. This book is meant to be a quick and immediately relevant guide to the basic mortgage process. Richard is a mortgage banker and Vice President of Mortgage Banking with Professional Mortgage Partners, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois. He focuses on residential mortgage lending. In addition to working with first time buyers, he has worked with people who have a wide range of situations, concerns, and financial goals. Richard lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter. He holds a BA in English from Boston University and an MA in English from Columbia University. |
